kamal1For this blog, I am going to start off with an email that my client Kamal sent me after her wedding.

When I started looking for a hair/makeup artist for my wedding, I wanted someone who could enhance her client’s beauty without overdoing it. I was looking for someone who was confident, knew what they were doing and had the credentials to back them up. Kim Basran not only met all of my criteria, she surpassed them. Kim went above and beyond! She doesn’t just do your makeup, she takes care of your entire look from head to toe and makes sure your hair, makeup, outfit, jewelry and all other accessories flow together to give you the look you desire.”

When I came back from India with my outfits, I told her that I was unhappy with my wedding blouse. She immediately booked a time for me to show her my outfits so that she could provide suggestions. I was ready to buy a new outfit, but Kim went out of her way to take me to a boutique and had a stunning new blouse re-designed at a very reasonable price. As far as my hair and make-up goes, I didn’t have a vision, all I knew is that I wanted to keep it fairly simple for the wedding and go all out in the evening. That’s exactly what Kim did!

She created two extremely different, and at the same time exceptionally amazing, looks! I was having a lot of skin problems at the time and Kim was able to make me look flawless and feel truly beautiful. I can’t thank her enough for that! Kim is not only talented, but she is a wonderful person inside and out. She makes an effort to connect with her clients and will bend over backwards to do whatever she can to make your special day extra special!”

Now for my blog about my beautiful and sweet bride Kamal! Kamal called me after seeing her friend, Serena whose makeup I had for a photo shoot. She was flabbergasted at how Serena looked as she typically never wore makeup. She was so impressed that she knew she wanted to hire me for her upcoming wedding. One of Kamal’s concerns as a bride was the fact that she often had eczema breakouts. She wanted to know if I had experience dealing with eczema.

In the past 15 years, I have come across this issue numerous times and I told her I could easily address it as I had done in the past. In this case, it was important for me to evaluate her skin so I could customize the perfect blend of makeup application, moisturizer and concealer that would hide the eczema and also give her a flawless glow. The glow can be hard to achieve for someone that has dry skin and eczema and this is why it is so important to hire an experienced and trained makeup artist for the day of your wedding.

I did coach and guide Kamal to follow a certain skin regime and diet in order not to aggravate the eczema and ensure her skin was looking the best it could look for her wedding day. Kamal was surprised that I cared so deeply about her as a client and really tried to help with her main concern.

Throughout the wedding process, I really take the time to get to know my brides and talk to them about any concerns they have. From the time they book to the trial and right up to the wedding day, we are in touch regarding wedding outfits, jewelry selection and much more.

I really take pride in my work as a makeup artist and more importantly in my mission for my company to inspire woman to always look and feel their absolute best! When I receive unsolicited testimonials such as this, it makes me so good to know that I am accomplishing my mission and dream.

If you have a wedding coming up this year and have not yet hired a makeup artist, be sure to call the Kim Basran Group. We are happy to answer any questions you may have! 604-785-9001
